Apparently Papa John’s missed a pretty good ending to Super Bowl XLIX.

The New England Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks in dramatic fashion Sunday night thanks to an interception by Malcolm Butler with 20 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

But as the red, white and blue confetti fell from the rafters in Glendale, Ariz., many confused viewers reported seeing a rather odd commercial from the pizza chain.

Nope, that’s not right.

All joking aside, it’s an honest mistake, as many advertisers make separate commercials that are queued up and ready to go depending on the game’s outcome.

As for who was responsible for the gaffe? Let’s just say the primary suspect is a certain Denver Broncos quarterback who’s appeared in his fair share of Papa John’s ads and has quite the rivalry with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (cough, cough, Peyton Manning, cough, cough).
