Another reunion in Chicago is set to take place.

Longtime Boston Red Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis is joining Theo Epstein and the Chicago Cubs as a special assistant, Mark Gonzalez of the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday. Youkilis came up through the Red Sox farm system when Epstein was the Boston general manager, and he spent nine seasons with the ballclub.

The 35-year-old was traded from the Red Sox to the Chicago White Sox in the middle of the 2012 season, after Epstein left to take his current job with the Cubs in October 2011. Youkilis spent the next campaign with the New York Yankees before spending one year in Japan. The three-time All Star announced his retirement in October.

Youkilis joins some familiar former Red Sox faces in the Windy City, as Jon Lester, Felix Doubront and David Ross all suit up for the North Siders.
