Amar’e Stoudemire is on his way out of New York.

The Knicks reportedly bought out the big man’s contract Sunday, per The New York Daily News’ Frank Isola. Stoudemire signed a five-year, $99.7 million deal with New York back in 2010.

Rumors have been flying around about a buyout for weeks, and it seems to have finally come to fruition in time for Stoudemire to play a full half of the NBA season with a new team. ESPN’s Marc Stein reported that the Dallas Mavericks are the front-runners to sign Stoudemire once he clears waivers, but the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns also are interested.

Stoudemire is averaging 12 points with 6.8 rebounds in 36 games this season.
