Ryan Getzlaf doesn’t sound like a big fan of Alexander Ovechkin.

The Anaheim Ducks forward was seething mad Sunday night after his team dropped a 5-3 decision to Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. The root of Getzlaf’s anger centered around what he perceived to be embellishment from the Caps star.

Ovechkin scored two goals and added two assists, but all Getzlaf could do after the game was accuse the Russian of diving.

“I didn’t know he was going to dive tonight the way he did, all over the (expletive) ice,” Getzlaf said, according to the Orange County Register. “That part of it’s a little embarrassing, pardon my language. He’s a great player. He’s going to score goals and make plays. That other stuff’s embarrassing.”

Getzlaf slashed Ovechkin in the first period, which apparently was enough to send the Caps star crashing to the ice.

You can see why Getzlaf might be a little agitated as Ovechkin goes down pretty easily, but it’s tough to argue with a slashing call there. Part of the frustration could stem from the fact that after Sunday’s loss, the Ducks now have dropped six of their last nine games.
