The Seattle Times Runs ‘Deflated’ Headline After Seahawks’ Super Bowl Loss

The Seattle Times perfectly summarized the Seahawks’ Super Bowl XLIX loss with one word: Deflated.

The New England Patriots defeated the Seahawks 28-24 in Sunday’s big game. They secured the victory in improbable fashion, as Malcolm Butler intercepted Russell Wilson near the goal line with the clock winding down.

The defeat obviously was crushing for the Seahawks, who were poised to grab the lead after a miraculous catch by Jermaine Kearse. The Times’ headline reflects the disappointment while also making light of the Patriots’ DeflateGate controversy.
