Where Adrian Peterson plays in 2015 is anyone’s guess. But one thing is clear: His agent wants it to be somewhere else.

Ben Dogra, who’s been at odds with the Minnesota Vikings’ front office while negotiating on behalf of his client over the last several months, told ESPN’s Kevin Seifert as much at the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix.

“I don’t think it’s in Adrian’s best interest to play in Minnesota,” Dogra said, via ESPN.com. “Why would it be?”

Dogra informed media last week that the Vikings don’t plan to release Peterson. The All-Pro running back is under contract for the next three seasons, so if that’s the case, the only way he could leave town is via trade.

Shortly after Dogra’s comments, Vikings co-owner and president Mark Wilf reiterated that the team expects him to be on the field in 2015.

“The bottom line is Adrian is an important part of the Minnesota Vikings,” Wilf said. “He’s represented us on and off the field. We’re getting ready for the 2015 season, and we fully expect him to join his teammates and be a part of what we feel is going to be a great season ahead.”

The team also made sure to wish Peterson a happy birthday via Twitter over the weekend.

Dogra declined to elaborate on his rhetorical question, but the fact that he posed it suggests it might be a while before Peterson’s future is resolved.
