Brian Hartline is headed for the Midwest.
The former Miami Dolphins wide receiver agreed to a two-year, $6 million contract with the Cleveland Browns, Hartline’s agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The news was first reported by Dustin Fox of WKRK in Cleveland.
Hartline is a Canton, Ohio, native and played for Ohio State, so his signing with the Browns is a homecoming.
The Dolphins drafted Hartline in the fourth round of the 2009 draft, and he has spent his entire six-year career in Miami. He enjoyed 1,000-yard, 10-touchdown seasons in 2012 and 2013, but he suffered a PCL tear during the last game of the 2013 season. Hartline had a diminished role with the Dolphins last season, catching just 39 passes for 474 yards and two touchdowns.
Miami released Hartline on Feb. 27.
