The foundation of every young man or woman’s career starts with a good education. And the foundation of every good education is an all-encompassing curriculum.

Biogen Idec, a biotechnology company based in Cambridge, Mass., is doing its part in that last regard, committing to delivering quality “STEM” education to children in the Boston and New England region.

“STEM” stands for science, technology, engineering and math, four subjects that aren’t adequately covered in some education systems. During the Boston Red Sox’s “Red Sox Foundation Game Night” in Fort Myers, Biogen Idec board member Jo Viney joined NESN’s Tim Wakefield and Elle Duncan to discuss the importance of STEM education and what the company is doing to support it.
