The limelight didn’t blind Roberto Firmino when he entered it; probably because he was looking away.
Firmino scored a unique no-look goal Sunday in Brazil’s 1-0 win over Chile in an exhibition game at the Emirates Stadium in London. It was the exciting attacking midfielder’s second international goal in five games.
Firmino broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute when he ran onto Danilo’s through-ball, rounded goalkeeper Claudio Bravo and shot it into the goal while looking away.

Firmino’s game-winning goal brought some flair to an otherwise subdued, ill-tempered contest between South American rivals.
Firmino, 23, specializes in the subtle art of the no-look goal. He performed the trick at club level earlier this season in Germany’s Bundesliga (first division), scoring Hoffenheim’s goal against Werder Bremen in the 1-1 draw on Sept. 1.
Firmino demonstrated his skill to a wider audience than normal Sunday. It’s no wonder why many are billing Firmino as a future star for Brazil, and a host of top clubs reportedly are interested in buying him during the upcoming summer transfer window.
