The Boston Bruins will be gunning for their third straight win and fifth victory in their last six games when they visit the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night as slim -120 moneyline favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Bruins appear to have turned the corner following a dismal stretch of eight losses in 10 games, including six straight defeats during which they surrendered an average of 4.33 goals per game. The club has given up just 16 total goals over its last seven games while regaining its scoring touch, tallying 25 markers during the same stretch.

The change in fortune could not have come at a better time. Boston enters Tuesday night?s Bruins vs. Senators betting matchup at Canadian Tire Centre with a four-point lead over the Florida Panthers for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and is just five points ahead of the surging Senators, who also hold a game in hand.

This is the fourth meeting of the season between the Bruins and Senators and their first in Ottawa, with the Sens claiming a pair of 3-2 wins in their last two encounters.

Ottawa has quickly closed the gap on the Bruins in the hunt for an Eastern Conference wild card spot, posting eight wins in its last nine outings, including six victories while pegged as a moneyline underdog on the NHL betting lines.

Following Tuesday?s game the Bruins return home to face the Tampa Lightning on Thursday before hitting the road for weekend dates with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals.

In NBA action the Boston Celtics will look to build on Monday night?s 100-90 win over the Miami Heat when they meet the Southwest-leading Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.

Monday?s straight-up win was the Celtics? third in their last four games, keeping them within striking distance of the final playoff spot in the NBA?s Eastern Conference; they’re just two games back of the Charlotte Hornets.

Boston is also undefeated against the spread in its last two games as a betting underdog, improving it to an increasingly reliable 11-5 ATS on the NBA odds in its last 16 games.

Wednesday night marks the second and final regular-season meeting between the two clubs, with the Grizzlies breezing to a 117-100 win on home court as 6.5-point favorites in mid-November.

Overall, the Celtics are 0-5 SU and 2-3 ATS in their last five games against Memphis according to the OddsShark NBA Database, and are 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five at home against the Grizzlies.
