Timofey Mozgov had a lot of things on his mind Wednesday night, and speaking English wasn’t one of them.

The Cleveland Cavaliers big man was born in Russia and didn’t move to the States until 2010, so naturally, Russian is his first language. That fact became abundantly clear during an interview with sideline reporter Allie Clifton before the Cavs’ game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Mozgov answering an entire question in Russian is pretty hilarious. But this video’s brilliance starts after his answer ends.

First, Clifton took Mozgov’s incomprehensible answer in stride, proving that she either speaks fluent Russian or is extremely cool under pressure.

More importantly, though, Mozgov didn’t even realize he answered in the wrong language until he responded to Clifton’s next question — in English.

Don’t you hate it when you get your languages mixed up?

Fortunately for Mozgov, his play on the court needed no translation. The 7-foot-1 finished 7-for-8 from the field for 17 points in Cleveland’s 117-92 win over Brooklyn.
