David Ortiz, Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez have become “The Three Amigos” at Boston Red Sox spring training.

The Red Sox addressed their offense over the offseason by signing both Sandoval and Ramirez. It hasn’t taken long for either player to emerge as a leader, which should bode well for Boston as it looks to overcome a disappointing 2014 season.

Ortiz already was a mentor for Ramirez, who came up through the Red Sox system before being traded to the Florida Marlins in November 2005. Big Papi also had an existing relationship with Sandoval before Kung Fu Panda signed a five-year contract with Boston in November. The trio have taken things to another level down in Fort Myers, though, and the energy at Red Sox camp is through the roof with Opening Day less than four weeks away.

NESN.com’s Ashley Allen recently caught up with Ortiz, Sandoval and Ramirez to discuss their special bond. Their optimism is obvious.
