David Pastrnak is skilled with his stick, but it was his skate that gave the Boston Bruins an early lead Thursday night.
The rookie forward barreled down the ice on a 2-on-1 breakaway with linemate Ryan Spooner in the first period. Spooner passed to Pastrnak in front of the net, and the puck deflected off his left skate into the net. Referees reviewed the goal, and the play stood after they determined Pastrnak didn’t make a distinct kicking motion.
