Fernando Torres’ latest Anfield return showed him the difference between business and personal life.

Liverpool fans gave Torres a warm welcome Sunday when he played in an All-Star game for charity at Anfield. Liverpool fans serenaded Torres, who was a Kop hero for three-and-a-half years before he controversially joined Chelsea in January 2011, moving the Spanish striker to thank them publicly afterwards.

Liverpool were especially hard on Torres whenever he returned to Anfield with Chelsea, but his January departure from Stamford Bridge to Atletico Madrid seemed to ease bitter feelings in the last few months.

The Kop sang the song they once belted out after Torres scored for Liverpool with gusto Sunday.

Before the game kicked off, Torres wasn’t sure what kind of reception he would receive at Anfield.

The song visibly moved Torres, 31, and he thanked fans in an emotional post on Instagram.

Torres’ story shows how players always can come home … eventually.
