Athletics run in the family for Herschel Walker’s clan, just not in the way you might think.
The former NFL star’s son isn’t crushing it on the gridiron, but he is making waves in the world of cheerleading. TMZ Sports recently caught up with the older Walker in Washington, D.C., where he boasted about his son Christian’s cheerleading accomplishments.
Christian’s Texas cheerleading squad won the NCA National Championship in Dallas in February, and Herschel is one proud papa.
“I never knew how athletic those people were,” Walker told TMZ. “Now, I’ve been spending a lot of time with it. And I’ve gotten involved with it.”
Walker isn’t just cheering on the cheerers, he’s also began mentoring them as well, according to TMZ.
