Isaiah Thomas knocked out the Miami Heat in the fourth quarter Monday night, but he took quite the beating himself.

The point guard fell hard to the floor during the fourth quarter of Boston’s 100-90 win after absorbing a foul from Heat guard Dwyane Wade. Thomas still managed to convert the layup, however, and also sank the free throw after his teammates helped lift him off the hardwood.

“That fall,” a still-sore Thomas told reporters after the win. “I’ve never fell that hard before. And that pain… You know, when I fell I thought that I was done. But everybody around me — my teammates — were just like, ‘We need you. We need you. Get up, we need you.’ ”

Thomas did remain in the game, scoring another five points to help the Celtics pull away. He finished with a team-high 25 points on the night, including 12 in the fourth quarter.

The team later announced that Thomas had suffered bruising to his lower back and right elbow. He expects to undergo X-rays on his tailbone, and his status for Wednesday’s matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies is uncertain.
