1:00 p.m.: The NFL free agency period officially gets underway at 4 p.m., but the wildness already is in full swing.

Some of the biggest news happened over the weekend, when it was reported Devin McCourty would return to the New England Patriots, Ndamukong Suh would take his talents to the Miami Dolphins, and Frank Gore appeared destined to join ex-Seattle Seahawks cornerback Byron Maxwell in Philadelphia before having second thoughts, leaving the Eagles in some running-back limbo.

The Eagles agreed to ship All-Star LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso last week.

But plenty of big names remain on the table, as DeMarco Murray is drawing interest from a number of teams, while Andre Johnson — who was released by the Texans — and Reggie Wayne — who was released by the Indianapolis Colts — also are the source of plenty of rumors.

The real insanity might not officially begin for a few hours, but we’ll keep you covered on all the deals from Day 1 of the 2015 NFL season — even the ones that come before 4 p.m — here on NESN.com.
