The New England Patriots could use some reinforcements in their secondary, and they could be looking at adding a veteran presence.

The Patriots will visit with veteran free-agent cornerback Terence Newman on Tuesday, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. According to Rapoport, Newman visited with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.

Newman, who will turn 37 in September, just finished the 12th season of his career, with the previous three coming with the Cincinnati Bengals. Newman appeared in just 13 games last season with one interception, 15 passes defended and 51 tackles. Newman hasn’t played a full 16-game season since the 2010 season with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Patriots could use some secondary depth after cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner both left through free agency, signing with the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints, respectively.
