The New England Patriots reportedly met with one of the 2015 NFL draft’s most athletic prospects Tuesday morning.

The Patriots had breakfast with UConn cornerback Byron Jones before his pro day, DraftInsider.net’s Tony Pauline reported Tuesday. Jones must have had a light meal, because he ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash at the event.

Jones also churned out 18 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. He skipped the 40-yard dash and bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine because he was recovering from shoulder surgery.

Jones broke the combine record with a 12-foot, 3-inch broad jump. He also leaped 44.5 inches on the vertical jump and ran a 6.78-second 3-cone and 3.94-second short shuttle at 6-foot-1, 199 pounds. His measureables and times are all excellent for a cornerback.

Jones originally was projected to be selected in the second or third round of the NFL draft, but after his impressive combine and pro day performances, he could be taken in the first round. As a senior, Jones allowed just a 26.3 passer rating, which ranked second in the nation, according to Pro Football Focus.
