Ryan Spooner Opens Bruins’ Scoring Against Hometown Senators (Video)

The Boston Bruins’ game against the Senators on Tuesday night was a homecoming for Ottawa native Ryan Spooner, and he certainly put on a show.

The 23-year-old center opened the scoring just over a minute into the second period with the Bruins on the power play.

It was an all-around good effort by Boston, as it created traffic in front of Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson. Defenseman Dougie Hamilton made a shot on goal, and the Bruins converged on the loose puck. It eventually found its way to a perfectly positioned Spooner, who sent a shot off the far-side post for the goal.

Spooner scored another goal at the end of the frame to give the Bruins a 3-0 lead.
