Joe Kelly might be a future comedian. But another member of the Boston Red Sox’s starting rotation might someday become a television star.
ESPN recently polled Major League Baseball players anonymously — as it does every spring — about several topics, some of which are more lighthearted than others. There were 117 respondents this year, and one American League pitcher thinks Wade Miley would be quite entertaining on TV.
ESPN asked, “Which player would make the most entertaining reality show star?”
An AL pitcher responded, “Wade Miley. It’d be like ‘Duck Dynasty.’ ”
Miley definitely has the “Duck Dynasty” look going with his long hair and his bushy beard. The lefty also bought a 14-foot boat this spring in order to fish with his Red Sox teammates in the back of Fenway South, according to WEEI.com, so there’s a lot of potential here.
