ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Alex Rodriguez hit two home runs, moving within two of tying Willie Mays for fourth place on the career all-time list.

Rodriguez hit his 657th and 658th homers Friday night for the New York Yankees to lead them to a 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

In the second inning, Rodriguez drove an 0-1 pitch from Nathan Karns an estimated 471 feet over the wall in center. A-Rod then lined a two-run shot to left off Ernesto Frieri in the sixth for his fourth home run of the year.
