On Tuesday night, Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado made a play that had some wondering if it would end up being the play of the year.

Well, it turns out it wouldn’t even last as play of the week.

Arenado was upstaged Wednesday night by Toronto Blue Jays left fielder Kevin Pillar, who made one of the best outfield catches we’ve seen in a very long while. Pillar stole the show when he scaled the wall and took a home run away from Tampa Bay’s Tim Beckham.

Not bad, huh?

Pillar’s catch is the real-life actualization of the dreams of many young kids who practice robbing home runs over and over.

“I’m pretty amazed by it,” Pillar told reporters, according to The Associated Press. “I watched it a couple times on my phone when I got in. It’s going to be tough to top making a play like that in my career.

“I’m just thankful I had an opportunity to rob a home run in the big leagues.”
