Patriots visit White House in 2004It’s rare to find someone who has met the President of the United States at the White House. Well, unless you’re at a Boston sporting event.

The city of Boston has enjoyed an unprecedented run of success over the past 15 years, as its four major sports teams — the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots and Boston Celtics — have combined to win nine titles. The most recent champions, the 2014 Patriots, will head to the nation’s capital for the fourth time Thursday to recognize their Super Bowl XLIX win over the Seattle Seahawks.

These trips to the White House have produced their fair share of memorable moments (presidential selfie, anyone?), but we can’t expect this awesome title trend to last forever. So in honor of a Boston sports team visiting 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for the ninth time, we’re taking a look back at the previous eight.
