If we were Brandon McCarthy, we’d be pretty down in the dumps right now.

The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher will miss the rest of the season with a torn elbow ligament after leaving Saturday’s game against the San Diego Padres in the sixth inning. It’s a tough blow for a player who started 3-0 for his new team after posting a 2.89 ERA in 14 games for the New York Yankees last season.

Yet McCarthy — who’s known for generally being hilarious on Twitter — took it all in stride with a fantastic tweet Monday.

That’s a good point, Brandon.

McCarthy’s wife Amanda, a social media maven in her own right, chipped in by telling fans she did everything she could to help her husband out.

McCarthy likely will need Tommy John surgery and could miss the beginning of next season as well. If there’s a bright side to all this, though, it’s that the 31-year-old probably will tweet more.
