Does Kevin Love Want To Leave Cavaliers, Play For Celtics Next Season?

With Kevin Love’s future in Cleveland still very much uncertain, there’s a strong chance the Cavaliers big man might be looking for a new home at season’s end.

Could Boston be Love’s next landing spot? The Boston Globe’s Kevin Paul Dupont seems to believe so.

“Boston is really the place he wants to be,” Dupont wrote Thursday. “We all know it. I bet he knows it, which just might be why, according to one insider, he spent a couple of off days here when the Cavaliers’ schedule allowed for some R&R at the end of the regular season.”

Of course, that’s nowhere near a guarantee that Love will don Celtics green next season — or, for that matter, that he’ll even leave Cleveland. Plus, the Cavs did visit Boston during the final week of the regular season, meaning Love simply could have been spotted around town before or after their Sunday afternoon meeting with the C’s earlier this month.

You certainly can expect the Celtics to make a push for Love, though, just as they did last summer. The 6-foot-10 power forward reportedly is high on Boston’s free-agency wish list.

Love shook off a rough start to the Celtics and Cavaliers’ first-round NBA playoff series with a breakout Game 3, shooting 6 of 10 from 3-point range and finishing with 23 points and nine rebounds in Cleveland’s 103-95 win at TD Garden.
