Everyone loves when professional sports teams’ Twitter accounts are funny. We love it even more when they tweet at each other. But did the Houston Rockets go too far?

Houston was on the verge of eliminating the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series Tuesday night, and as the game wound down, it sent a rather offensive tweet to the Mavs.

The Mavericks didn’t take kindly to the tweet, which actually might have been funny had the Rockets not gone overboard with the gun emoji.

Maybe the hand waving emoji would have been more appropriate in this scenario, suggesting the team was waving goodbye to the Mavericks instead of shooting them?

The Rockets have since deleted the tweet and apologized.

Houston went on to win the game and the series with a 103-94 victory.
