BOSTON — It’s been two years since the Boston Marathon bombings. The city is as strong as ever.

The Red Sox welcomed two Boston Marathon bombing survivors, Jeff Bauman and Patrick Downes, to Fenway Park on Wednesday to participate in the ceremonial first pitch before the team’s game against the Washington Nationals.

Bauman lost both of his legs in the bombings. Downes lost his left leg. Yet the life-altering events did little to dampen either man’s spirit, as the victims truly epitomize what it means to be “Boston Strong.”
