Jets Fans Chant ‘Katy Perry’ At Ducks Forward Corey Perry (Video)

Winnipeg Jets fans had themselves a big old party Monday night, and the only thing missing was a win.

Playoff hockey returned to the Great North for the first time in almost two decades Monday night, as the Jets 2.0 hosted the Anaheim Ducks in Game 3 of their Stanley Cup playoffs first-round series.

Practically the entire city of Winnipeg was at the game, and those who weren’t at the game made sure they were off the streets and in their homes or at bars by 8 p.m. local time for puck drop. Once inside the arena, Jets fans were loud from the jump and got especially rowdy in the third period.

Perhaps feeling a little too good about their team’s 4-3 lead midway through the third, Jets fans serenaded Ducks forward Corey Perry with chants of “Katy Perry.”

Of course, Perry (the Duck) and his team got the last laugh. Ryan Kesler tied the game with just a few minutes to play and Rikard Rakell scored in overtime to give Anaheim the win and a commanding 3-0 series lead.
