BOSTON — Hanley Ramirez didn’t make it very far into Monday’s matinee, but it seems as though he’ll be A-OK going forward.

The Boston Red Sox left fielder exited the club’s Patriots’ Day matchup against the Baltimore Orioles before the third inning because of illness. Allen Craig came on in Ramirez’s stead as the Red Sox earned a 7-1 win in a rain-shortened game.

Red Sox manager John Farrell said Ramirez was fine before the game but began to feel dizzy as he was playing. Luckily, the Sox skipper doesn’t expect the slugger to miss any time.

“There was just the onset of some illness, some lightheadedness,” Farrell said. “He was examined by the doctors here when he came out of the game. Stayed off his feet. I don’t anticipate him missing tomorrow, but he was unable to go for the remainder today.”

The Red Sox will fly south for a three-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays starting Tuesday.
