The Miami Marlins had a rough Opening Day.

Things didn’t start so hot for Miami when its game against the Atlanta Braves was delayed in the second inning due to rain at Marlins Park, which has a retractable roof. Then, in the sixth inning, center fielder Marcell Ozuna allowed a runner to put himself in scoring position in a pretty embarrassing way.

Braves center fielder Eric Young Jr. hit a line drive out to Ozuna, who dove to make the catch and proudly displayed his glove. Or at least he thought he did. In reality, the ball went under Ozuna’s glove and landed behind him, while the fleet-footed Young made his way safely to second.

Nick Markakis knocked Young in two batters later, which proved to be the game-winning run in Atlanta’s 2-1 victory.

Had Ozuna made that catch, it would have been a tough one worthy of celebration. But next time, he should probably be 100 percent sure the ball is in his glove before he holds it up.
