It’s all fun and games until the leader of the free world trash-talks you.
A few members of the Washington Wizards made their way to the White House on Monday for the traditional Easter Egg Roll, which included a little pickup game with President Barack Obama. The Commander In Chief teamed up with Wizards point guard John Wall in a shooting game against a team that included Paul Pierce and some unlikely trash talking.
Pierce, who’s widely regarded as one of the best trash talkers in the NBA, had no rebuttal to Obama’s boasting after the president nailed a couple of game-winning shots.
“It was fun. (Obama’s) got the weirdest jump shot release, but today he showed off,” Wall said, per The Washington Post. “He showed off today. He hit two game-winners, so he showed off a little bit today.”
“He trash-talked Paul when he hit the game-winner,” Wall said. “He was like, ‘I’m clutch, I’m clutch.’ ”
All Pierce could do was fist bump Obama because how else does one respond in this situation?
