BOSTON — Red Sox left fielder Hanley Ramirez hit his 10th home run of the season off Blue Jays starter R.A. Dickey in the third inning of Wednesday night’s 4-1 win at Fenway Park.
He’s tied with Seattle Mariners outfielder Nelson Cruz for the most homers in the majors this season.

Ramirez has tied David Ortiz’s team record for the most home runs before the month of May. Ramirez’s 10 homers tie a career high for a single month. He also hit 10 in June of 2008 for the Florida Marlins.
“It’s crazy how (Ramirez)Â hits the ball hard,” Ortiz said. “It reminds me of my younger days.”
Ramirez is batting .292 with 10 homers, 23 RBIs and a .341 on-base percentage in 21 games.

— Red Sox closer Koji Uehara pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning and struck out the side for his fourth save of the season. He has struck out 11 of 23 batters faced this season and hasn’t given up a run or a hit in his last two appearances.
— Red Sox reliever Junichi Tazawa earned his fifth hold of the season. He pitched a scoreless eighth inning after allowing one earned run in each of his previous two appearances.
— The Red Sox went 2-for-3 with runners in scoring position. The Blue Jays were 0-for-6 with RISP.
— With two singles, Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia passed Mo Vaughn for 16th place on Boston’s all-time total bases list with 2,076.
— Rusney Castillo returned to game action for Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday night. He went 0-for-4 as the designated hitter.
— The top four spots in Toronto’s lineup collected just one hit after tallying eight in Tuesday’s 11-8 win.
