Gerald Wallace’s veteran leadership is a great thing for the Boston Celtics to have. His contract, however, is not.

Wallace is set to make $10.1 million next season in the final year of his dealĀ — far more than the 32-year-old forward is worth at this point in his career.

Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders reported Monday, citing sources, that the Celtics would be willing to part with a first-round draft pickĀ if it meant being able to trade Wallace this offseason. Boston could have as many as 10 first-round picks coming its way over the next four drafts.

Wallace playedĀ in just 32 games this season, averaging 8.9 minutes per appearance. He instead served as something of a player-coach andĀ often was seen advising his younger teammates during timeouts.
