Jon “Bones” Jones may not get to defend his UFC light heavyweight title against Anthony Johnson next month.

The 27-year-old fighter is wanted for questioning in New Mexico after a woman was left injured following a hit-and-run accident.

The UFC released a statement on the incident late Sunday night.

“We are aware that the Albuquerque Police Department is interested in speaking to Jon Jones regarding his possible involvement in a motor vehicle accident. We are in the process of gathering facts and will reserve further comment until more information is available.”

Some reports claim Jones is already out of UFC 187, but others deny that claim, instead suggesting no decision has been made. It doesn’t sound good for Jones, though, who previously has gone to rehab for drug issues.

Jones is the brother of New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones. He also owns a sparkling 27-1 career record.
