If you go to the national championship game dressed as a Teletubby and end up on the verge of tears, TV cameras are going to find you.
Some poor University of Wisconsin fan learned that the hard way Monday night, as his Badgers were defeated by Duke for the national title. For whatever reason, the young man wore a red Teletubby costume — from the kids TV show “The Teleltubbies” — to the game, an idea that almost certainly seemed like a good one earlier in the day.
The idea probably sounded really good for most of the game, as Wisconsin pulled ahead early in the second half. However, Duke stormed back and with the help of officials was able to upend Wisconsin. That left Badgers fans everywhere sad, especially our friend the red Teletubby.

It didn’t take long for the Internet to jump all over the poor guy, starting with this mashup set to the saddest song of all time, Sarah McLachlan’s “I Will Remember You.”
There were also the inevitable comparisons to the sad Villanova piccolo player.
