If we can learn anything from this season’s NCAA Tournament, it should be to watch what you say near a microphone.

Wisconsin’s Nigel Hayes was “caught” complimenting a woman during a news conference earlier in the tournament, but that was light-hearted. Saturday night, a hot mic picked up University of Kentucky guard Andrew Harrison saying something much worse.

Harrison and his Kentucky teammates obviously were dejected in the moments following a Final Four loss to the University of Wisconsin that ended their perfect season. When Karl Anthony-Towns was asked about Wisconsin big man Frank Kaminsky, Harrison uttered something under his breath that he didn’t think would be caught on the microphone.

“F— that (n-word),” Harrison muttered.

You can see video and hear the comment here.

Kentucky is going to look into the situation, but Harrison already has admitted guilt. However, he claims he made the comment in jest and even reached out to Kaminsky.
