If Abby Wambach had it her way, she would be playing on real grass in the upcoming Women’s World Cup.

Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. has launched a campaign that advocates for natural grass over artificial turf, and it has the two-time gold medalist on their side.

Wambach is backing the “Keep It Real” campaign, which was instigated by FIFA’s decision to hold next month’s World Cup on turf.

Back in January, Wambach and teammates went so far as to file a suit against FIFA and the Canadian Soccer Association in an effort to do away with the turf. They have since dropped the suit, but Wambach still is committed to saving the sport’s grass playing fields, teaming up with Scotts to share her message.
