Los Angeles Angels third base coach Gary DiSarcina sees plenty of similarities between his team and the Boston Red Sox.
The former Pawtucket Red Sox manager chatted with NESN’s Tom Caron ahead of Sunday’s game between the two teams and noted that the Halos’ struggles at the plate are a lot like Boston’s.
“It’s been a struggle so far,” DiSarcina said. “We’re at .500, we’re keeping our head above water, just very much like the Red Sox. We mirror each other in the sense of offensively we haven’t been able to put it together. … We had a good night (Friday), but once again (Saturday) we go back and struggle a little bit, so it’s been inconsistent right now.”
DiSarcina believes that both teams have plenty of talented hitters who just haven’t hit their stride yet. But he certainly hopes they will soon, if only for the sake of his job.
“I’m getting bored down there coaching third,” DiSarcina joked.
