Archie Bradley almost looks like a normal human being again, a week and a half after a scary accident.

The Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher had a major scare Tuesday when he took a line drive to the face, causing his right cheek to swell to astronomical proportions. Bradley still is recovering from the gruesome injury, but judging by his Twitter account, things are going (relatively) well.

Bradley is scheduled to start for the Diamondbacks on May 16, a minor miracle considering the line drive off the bat of Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez was traveling at 115 miles per hour when it hit the pitcher’s face.

“I’ve healed up even quicker than I thought I would, so things are going in the right direction,” Bradley said Thursday, via MLB.com. “The cuts inside my mouth have healed up. That’s where a lot of the pain was. My teeth are starting to come back to normal and the swelling has gone down.”

The 22-year-old right-hander certainly made the most of his brief recovery, recently surprising a 14-year-old boy who took a line drive to the face on the same day Bradley was injured.
