Well, you don’t see this every day.

The Detroit Tigers appeared to have the Houston Astros on the ropes with runners on first and second, Ian Kinsler at the plate and slugger Miguel Cabrera on deck.

Fortunately for Astros third baseman Jonathan Villar, he was ready for the perfect ground ball.

“I was calling it like, ‘Please give me a ground ball here, and I’ll go to third base and we’ll have a triple play,'” Villar told MLB.com, through a translator.

The triple play was the first for Houston since August 2004. Kinsler hit into a triple play against Detroit as a member of the Rangers in 2009.

Houston, trailing at the time of the play, went on to win the game 3-2. They now own the best record in baseball at 28-16.
