Count Brett Favre as the latest NFL legend to take Tom Brady’s side.

Reaction among the football community in regards to Brady’s four-game suspension has been mixed, but Favre made it clear during a recent FOX News interview he doesn’t think Brady did anything that could be considered cheating.

“I don’t think by any stretch, in my opinion, that Tom was cheating,” Favre told Greta Van Susteren on Tuesday. “It sounds crazy. Historically, there’s been stealing of signs — and that goes to baseball and football. Just whatever advantage you could get. Lester Hayes putting Stickum on his arms for the Raiders. Pine tar. It’s just endless, the advantages that players would try to get.

“I don’t know if Tom would actually, can honestly say he has completed more passes because of it. I think more than anything, it helped with the grip based on conditions. And would other players do it? Sure, I have no reason to think otherwise.”

Favre admitted he hasn’t followed the story too closely, but he did stress he doesn’t feel this affects Brady’s legacy that much, putting the New England Patriots quarterback over as one of the best quarterbacks ever.

“I think that he is, if not the best, one of the best all time,” Favre stated. “I just think what the guy has done is incredible. Joe Montana in my mind will go down as the best ever, at least in my generation. Tom’s not very far behind, if he is behind.”
