Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t content just to lead the world in goal scoring. He’s also out front in a much-needed humanitarian effort.

Ronaldo donated €7 million ($7.8 million) to help victims of last month’s devastating earthquake in Nepal, French magazine So Foot reports, according to CBS Sports. Ronaldo, who wears the No. 7 jersey for Real Madrid and Portugal’s national team, sent a slice of his considerable wealth to Save the Children’s earthquake relief effort and urged his followers to give what they can.

More than 8,000 people died in the April 25 earthquake, which registered 7.8 on the Richter scale, and its aftermath. It was the worst earthquake in Nepal since 1934, according to the Associated Press. Another powerful earthquake, registering 7.3, shook Nepal on Tuesday.

Nepal continues to appeal for humanitarian aid, and Ronaldo’s riches can’t perform disaster relief on their own.
