BOSTON — Hanley Ramirez has been dealt another blow.

Ramirez exited Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels at Fenway Park with left hand soreness, according to the Boston Red Sox. Daniel Nava replaced Ramirez in left field before the start of the sixth inning.

Angels starter Garrett Richards hit Ramirez in the hand with a 93-mph pitch in the fourth inning. The veteran outfielder initially stayed in the game but exited after Los Angeles scored nine runs in the fifth inning to take an 11-3 lead.

Ramirez, of course, suffered a shoulder injury earlier this month when he crashed into the wall in foul territory along the left field line at Fenway. The 31-year-old avoided a disabled list stint, but he’s been struggling to produce offensively. Ramirez has no home runs or RBIs in May.

UPDATED, 11:35 p.m. ET: Ramirez left the game because he was having trouble gripping the bat, according to Red Sox manager John Farrell.

A scan performed at the ballpark came back negative. The Red Sox will check on the slugger Saturday.
