Hanley Ramirez has struggled at the plate since slamming into the outfield wall trying to make a catch earlier this month. His most recent performances, however, have shown signs that the left fielder is returning to peak hitting form.
Before Wednesday’s game against the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park, Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy broke down some positive signs
“He hit a rocket into right-centerfield, which is really kind of a Hanley Ramirez swing,” Remy said. “Even though he’s not a hundred percent, he’s still a threat at the plate and a threat in the lineup, and that’s why John Farrell keeps him in there.”
Ramirez has admitted to playing a bit hurt, but he’s now almost three weeks removed from the injury, and he soon could resume his position as resident mauler in the middle of the Red Sox’s struggling offense.
