The Splash Brothers met their match Monday night, in more ways than one.
Severe storms and torrential downpours hit the Houston area Monday, stranding hundreds of Rockets fans — and center Dwight Howard — inside the arena following the team’s 128-115 Game 4 win over the Golden State Warriors.

At around 11 p.m. CT, the Rockets advised fans to remain inside until the conditions improved, as several highways and roads were flooded.

Most of the 18,000-plus fans in attendance decided to brave the elements, but a few hundred decided to wait it out, including Howard.
“There’s no need to try to push it,” Howard said after the game, via The Houston Chronicle. “One of my friends just hit me up and said he’s stuck on the highway now. I don’t think it’s smart for anybody to try to be out on this weather.”
Unfortunately, there wasn’t much for the Rockets big man to do.
“They’re showing the Weather Channel right now,” he said. “They need to put on a movie or something.”
Howard eventually took matters into his own hands, coming out to interact with fans while his son had some fun with the crowd.

The Toyota Center also took extra measures, offering some hospitality to a number of fans who still were stuck in the arena early Tuesday morning.
