John Cena Clarifies He Was Squatting ‘Only’ 396 Pounds In Viral Video

John Cena is strong, but he’s not that strong. OK, maybe he is that strong, but he wasn’t on this one specific instant.

The longtime WWE wrestler is also a workout freak. Cena’s workout regimen and lifestyle have been well-documented both in storylines and real life, and he’s widely considered the strongest WWE Superstar, even at the age 0f 38.

As strong as Cena is, the WWE’s United State champion apparently is a pretty honest dude, too. It all started Thursday when Cena tweeted this video of him in the gym (of course), squatting what appeared to be a whole bunch of weight.

Some looked at all the plates stacked on both sides of the bar, did some quick adding and figured Cena was squatting 600 pounds. However, that wasn’t the case, Cena pointed out Friday in another tweet. The plates apparently weren’t 45-pound plates, and Cena cleared that up with the follow-up tweet.

So there you have it — “only” 396 pounds. Child’s play, really.
