Johnny Gaudreau Sends Flames-Ducks Game 3 To OT With Perfect Shot (Video)

Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau’s first contribution to his team’s second-round playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks was a big one.

The former Boston College star forced overtime in Tuesday night’s Game 3 with a perfect shot to beat Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen glove side with 20 seconds remaining in regulation. It was Gaudreau’s first point of the series.

Flames forward Mikael Backlund scored in overtime to give the Flames a 4-3 win, their first of the series. Game 4 is Friday night in Calgary.

Gaudreau entered Game 3 with six points in his first eight playoff games. He’s also a finalist for the Calder Trophy, which is awarded annually to the NHL’s most outstanding rookie. Gaudreau finished the regular season with 64 points (24 goals, 40 assists) in 80 games.
