FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots used their 101st overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft on Arkansas pass rusher Trey Flowers.

Flowers, a 6-foot-2, 266-pound defensive end at Arkansas, ran a 4.85-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in March with a 7.26-second 3-cone drill and 36.5-inch vertical leap. He ran a 4.40-second short shuttle at the NFL Scouting Combine with a 10-foot, 1-inch broad jump and 28 reps on the bench press.

Flowers had 18 sacks in four years with the Razorbacks. He also recorded 190 total tackles, an interception, 13 passes defended and four forced fumbles.

Flowers had the second highest pass-rush productivity among draft-eligible edge rushers last season, according to Pro Football Focus. He had 61 total pressures in 329 pass rush snaps. He also had the second highest third-down pass-rush productivity among draft-eligible edge rushers.

Flowers ranked high in run-stop percentage, as well, ranking fourth among draft-eligible edge rushers with 35 stops in 289 run-defense snaps.

Flowers was projected as a third-round draft pick by NFLDraftScout.com, so he could be considered a slight steal at 101st overall.
