FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots finally drafted a cornerback 247 picks into the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Patriots selected Marshall’s Darryl Roberts with the 247th overall selection Saturday.
The 5-foot-11, 187-pound cornerback is a ridiculous athlete. He ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash at his pro day with a 6.66-second 3-cone drill and 4.06-second short shuttle. He recorded 23 reps on the bench press, a 39-inch vertical leap and an 11-foot, 1-inch broad jump.
He made 42 career starts at Marshall, picking off five passes and recording 186 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, one sack, 35 passes defended and a forced fumble.
